WEEKEND UPDATE FROM CAMP HEIDELBERG: WE PUT IN ANOTHER GARDEN BED! :)

Dear All,

Our garden has expanded! We put in another garden bed at the camp! :)

Even though it's the last week of camp, we still have 5 days to tend to our old garden, and decide what we would like to plant in the new garden bed.

Do you have any suggestions? No idea is a bad idea... :)

See you at Camp Heidelberg.

A GREAT END TO THE SECOND LAST WEEK OF CAMP!

Dear All,

We sure were goofy all the way to Friday afternoon.  On Friday, we decided to have a campfire - complete with songs and all - and had marshmallows - because our campfire was cancelled. Then we did archery, played soccer and finished up crafts from the week, before having an awesome BBQ lunch!

We would like to say a great big' THANK YOU' to our friend Thomas' ('Carl') parents for supplying us with giant, delicious bags of chips! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :)

During lunch we welcomed John, a former YMCA employee who shared with stories from his travels in Africa.

In the afternoon, the LIAs organized an amazing game of 'Blob Tag'! We had so, so much fun!! Finally, we also completed our Y value puzzles as well.

Very lastly :) to, even their own surprise, 'The Heidies' wont he weekly competition.  Everyone was so, so excited! :)

We can't wait to start our last week at the camp, when we will be breaking some records.  We will also be truing Zumba and Yoga - hopefully - on Tuesday.

See you all at the Camp! :)

WE LOVE BEING 'GOOFY', AND PLAYING GIANT GAMES! :)

Dear All,

Our week at Camp Heidelberg continued with tons of fun!  Today, Thursday, we did archery, did our craft in the forest, played lacrosse and went down to the pond to explore the critters around the pond.  In the afternoon, the LIAs organized an amazing 'camp-wide' game for us.

Yesterday, Wednesday, we played soccer baseball, did an amazing craft involving tiles and Sharpies, did archery and tried land-skis again.  In the afternoon, we played a giant game of 'Field Basketball'.  Even though it was warm outside in the afternoon, we still had lots of fun!

Unfortunately our campfire was cancelled due to the weather, but we are looking forward to an amazing Friday, which will include a BBQ hot-dog lunch, and games lead by the LIAs.

We thank you for your support of our camp.

WEEK 7 - 'GIANT GOOFY GAMES': HERE WE GO!

Dear All,

This week at Camp Heidelberg we will playing many awesome, large, goofy, silly games.  Yesterday, Tuesday, we played a giant game of 'Canada Dodgeball' - it's the polite, nice version of dodgeball, where we encouraged campers to throw the balls 'under-hand', aim at knees-and-below and say 'sorry' if a camper hits another camper! :)  On Monday, we also tried out our land skis.  We might just have to have a race or two later on this week... :)

We also played a few rounds of soccer, made giant bird-feeders and did archery.  Our week is off to an amazing start!

Hope to see you at Camp Heidelberg. :)

WE CAUGHT MANY A POKEMON!! :)

Dear All,

We finished week 6 at Camp Heidelberg with a great, big Pokemon hunt.  Needless to say we caught many, many of them.  A great, big thank you goes out to Jessie for drawing the Pokemon on paper.(Despite of what she thinks, the drawings are fantastic! :))

We also finished our week long craft as well.  Our campers were incredibly creative, and so the craft turned out to be amazing.

Please see our week in pictures.

Hope to see you at Camp Heidelberg.

SHINKS, CHARMANDER OR PIKACHU? IT'S 'POKEMON GO' WEEK AT CAMP HEIDELBERG!! :)

Dear All,

We are continuing our fantastic summer at Camp Heidelberg with a 'Pokemon Go' week.  This week our aim is to play as many games as we can that involve Pokemon.

Yesterday, Tuesday, we played Pokemon 'Huckle/Buckle', and did a bit of Pokemon training as we played Pokemon Tic-Tac-Toe.  Today, Wednesday, we played a giant game of 'Water-type, Fire-type and Grass-type', and we trained our Pokemon this morning with an exciting game of Pokemon Ladders.

Our craft this week is a week-long craft, and involved the campers making their favourite Pokemon character using balloons, and paper mache.

Of course, we already played a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer and European dodgeball, and we also did archery.  Needless to say we are having so much fun at Camp Heidelberg.

ON THE MENU FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK - BERRY COBBLER, MINI PIZZAS AND GRILLED VEGGIES! :)

Dear All,

The rest of our week at the camp was just as exciting as Monday and Tuesdays were.  On Wednesday we made berry cobblers, which we started on the fire but finished in the over.  Today, Thursday, we made mini pizza - over the fire and on the BBQ.  On the menu tomorrow, we have grilled veggies in tinfoil, and hot dogs.  Needless to say, I think we had a great time preparing the food, and learned a few new tricks along the way as well.

Apart from cooking, we also played sports such as European handball, soccer, and basketball.  We also made a few interesting crafts, we included working with clay.  Today, Thursday, we also had a 'Tug of Rope' competition which was won by Jess' group.

After the long weekend, it's 'Pokemon Go' week at Camp Heidelberg.  Please visit our blog - or join us for the week - to see what we are up to! :)

Thank you for your support of our camp.
